Staying Motivated When Working at Home

As the saying goes, ‘There is No Truth, Only Perception’? It may be true in some cases, but in others maybe not. The truth is the truth whether people see it or not.

take off!

When you look at something like attitude, for example your attitude about working you may be able to see an example. Do you like to work? If the answer is yes then you probably have a pretty good time working. The busier you are the more you thrive in the environment.

It is likely that you are creative about your work and are always looking for ways that you can improve the process. You are proud when you do things efficiently and accurately. You derive substantial gratification when you have accomplished the successful completion of a project.

On the other hand, if you would rather be doing something else and don’t particularly like to work, that’s ok. We need balance in our lives and we should make time for living the other aspects. It is probable that if you make regular time for you, then the time you spend working will seem less unappealing to you. It is necessary to work, like it or not, and it would be more pleasant, as well as more productive, if we learn to enjoy it. This is much easier to appreciate when you see how enjoyable working at home can be especially when compared to a corporate job.

If money is your only motivation you might need to focus on that. Never elaborate on your financial problems though as it will add more stress and unpleasantness. Think about the things you would like to buy if you had extra money. Imagine yourself having them, like a ‘carrot on a stick’ to keep you going.

It is easier when you like what you are doing just for the sake of doing it. You can enjoy whatever you do. However, even if you are happy, you need to take regular breaks and at least a weekly day off. If you are so tired it will begin to seem like depression, which can hardly be said to be motivating.

More than likely you are starting a home business in your spare time, in addition to a regular full-time job. The dream is likely to be that someday you will work at home full-time and ‘fire your boss’. Be sure that you have proven income potential in your business before you let him go. It can take a while to get things up and rolling and it would be best if you were not feeling pressured.

Working at Home is Best – Here is Why

There are many advantages to working from home. Whether you have your own online business, or you have some other job that allows you to work from home, it is so much more efficient. If you are looking at your options in this regard, here are some things to consider.

Do what is best

Flexibility is a major consideration. Consider how much time and money you spend commuting every day. Working from home gives you more time because you do not need to spend time travelling to and from your office. There is no need to rush and go through the stress of daily traffic jams. This includes the stress of wondering what they will do to you for being late again.

If you have your own business, you are able to manage your own business model. Remember all those years biting your tongue in order not to say you know you could do it a better way? Frustrating enough just knowing it.

When setting up a business at home, you can choose a product or services that you can sell best. You can also have multiple streams of income if you diversify. Some products actually complement each other. You can do direct selling of products or offer a myriad of different services that you can perform online from your home, including marketing, advertising, bookkeeping and SEO.

There are thousands of ideas and information in a search engine like google.com. You can search to find work at home opportunities. If you would like to freelance you can look for projects which may be short or long-term. You can also look for a ‘job’ where you work for a company online, either as a self-employed contractor or an employee who ‘telecommutes’ either part or full-time.

In order to get a good foundation for your home office, you should list the things in your office or former office that are tools that you use. Note any office equipment like printers as well as supplies like paper, ink, etc. They are not that expensive and you can probably pick up some good deals on ‘home size’ products and equipment. Just get one thing each time you have a paycheck or some extra money. Be sure you have an excellent quality Internet Service Provider and good security.

The freedom even just to set your own time to work is so liberating you won’t believe it if you have worked in a rut for years. You have a life apart from work and you should start enjoying it as much as you can right now. Working at home you will see how there are 24-hours in a day, not just the 8-hours you are at work. You can choose to work a few hours in the morning and a few in the afternoon, take Fridays off, or whatever you like as long as you get your work done on time!

Are You One Who Lives to Work or Who Works to Live?

Some people love to work and their job is a priority. These folks enjoy working and look forward to it. Others not so much and just show up for the paycheck and do as little as they can get away with. Hard to tell if they have something they really do like to do, like a hobby, such as photography or painting – maybe not even that.

work it out!

It is pretty common to hear the expression ‘starving artists’. That’s because for some reason they usually spend several years of creating art that doesn’t sell and doesn’t often generate enough money to live on. Many times artists have no sense of business so they may mismanage most financial issues. Sad, but maybe something about the struggle may contribute to developing their talent.

If we live to work or work to live , the difference may depend t on whether you have a job where you are doing something you like to do if not just tolerate it well. Sometimes it is necessary to do anything we can to support ourselves when in dire straits. This may have to be okay for a limited time, but if it becomes a permanent career it can become a real mental and emotional drain.

Other than sleeping, our work consumes a large portion of our daily life. We should really try to be happy with what we are doing – or are forced to be doing. It really requires some strength to remain positive in a negative situation. However, if we are in a position where we are not really happy, we need to try to change it.

In today’s financial environment, we can’t just throw away a job, because the days are gone where we knew we could always find something better. We are fortunate if we have a way to support ourselves on any decent level. If we really want more, we have to believe that we can do it and then we have to take action to achieve our goals.

If we love to work it will be a lot easier if we have to develop a business to supplement our income, or to start mapping out a planning an escape from our hamster wheel (rut) to save our sanity among other things. If you are willing to try working at home at least part-time to begin to build a business you can get creative and build something you like doing.
